This gives you a nice bit of breathing space. Your automatically at war with your former leige and his troops are scattered to the winds and most will be defeated while solo raiding. As soon as thats done capture something solo u know u wont get to keep, ask for it, protect it long enough not to be recapped before king decides who to give it to, and qucikly make your way home to protect your fiefs and declare independance once he denys you the fief. Start a campaign, lead all your lords into the enemy heartland and send them off to raid individually so they become spead out and vunerable. Then if u really want a fief u capture you dont have to go far to find out who hes going to give it to.Īnother 'trick' of mine is to declare independance shortly after a major power declares war on my leiges faction. One of the most valuable things about being marshall is getting the king to follow you. If someone is doing something u dont want them too, you can just command them to follow you and they stop what they are doing and do so. You can influence what castles and towns are attacked. As marshall you have some control over the rate of the realms expansion.
Being marshall has more positives than negatives.
